Annual General Meeting Highlights
Saturday, April 22, 2017 On Saturday, April 22, 2017 we had our Annual General Meeting. Like in previous years our agenda covered the Plant Manager’s report, financial reports and many of the committee reports. |
Gleaner's Expansion 2017
As many of you know we are planning to build two buildings this year, a shop and an addition to our kitchen, washrooms and office building. Work has begun on the shop and the plans for the other building are drawn and are at the engineer’s office now. As soon as all the paper work is done we will apply for a permit. The plan is to build this during late summer and into fall. Funding for the shop has been paid by some of our membership but there is a need for some funding for the addition. If you can help us with this it will be greatly appreciated. |
Fraser Valley Gleaner's Board
In a voluntary charitable organization, everybody is considered a link in the chain of that society. This analogy also holds true in the importance of the directors and officers of the board of that organization. Although each director has a specific role and responsibility in the portfolio that they hold in the Board of Directors, some have a more direct impact on the operation of the board then others. Some of the obvious ones are the chair-person, vice chair-person and secretary. It would be unfair to choose certain people because of their service as director, but when a director has served one year as chair-person, seven years as a secretary and one year as assistant secretary, it is noteworthy to mention that person. Bob Spyksma is that person and we at the FVGS want to extend our gratitude to Bob for his service and dedication for all the years of his service. We remember Bob and his wife Jennie, as she is facing severe health issues and our prayers are with him and his family. Submitted by Peter Funk |
