Twenty Years of Excellent Service!!
It has been 20 years since the first bag of soup mix was prepared and shipped from Fraser Valley Gleaners. During this whole time God has continued to pour out His Blessing on this organization, for which we give Him thanks. We would also like to recognize Carl & Elaine Goosen for their consistent and faithful service as General Manager and Office Administrator during this same time frame. Fraser Valley Gleaners would not have functioned as well as it has if it were not for the vibrant and efficient management provided by this wonderful couple. We know that Carl and Elaine have not done this to receive praise and accolades from us for their service, but we wanted to recognize them at this milestone of service. After 20 years of service ministry, Carl & Elaine have tendered their resignation as plant manager and office administrator to be effective December 31, 2021. It is with regret that we have accepted their resignation and have begun the process of finding replacements for both. We would request your prayers for wisdom and guidance as we go through this process. THANK YOU SO MUCH, CARL AND ELAINE! May God reward you for your service. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Ed Klassen, President |

2021 Celebration/Fundraiser Event
Our annual celebration was very different this year! We missed having a delicious meal together and seeing everyone in person. Instead, we worked at and posted an online event in September for you to watch. A 35-minute program with guest speaker, Lindsay Brucks from ‘FH Canada’ sharing how the Gleaner soup mix is used in Burundi, South Africa and Guatemala. Special Music by Stephanie Redekopp and ‘The Arias’. If you didn’t get a chance to watch – this event is still online by going to FVG web page and clicking on the Program Icon. Proceeds for this event exceeded $100,000. Thank you to all who participated and generously donated to this ministry. Thank you to David Ediger Design for all his time and work on this project. |
Why I go to the Gleaners!
* I don't have to go every day; I can choose which morning(s) I want to volunteer. * When I go, it gets me up and going at a good time of day, usually in time for even breakfast. * I can work at my own pace, it's not a race! * The main task is prepping veggies. * There are many other tasks that are also required for the veggies to make it into the soup mix, some are more physically demanding than others. * The neat thing; there is a place for all who want to serve! * Great place to make new friends, especially at snack time over a cup of coffee/tea/juice and some numnums! * The fact that I'm involved in making millions of servings of soup for those less fortunate gives a good feeling! * Gleaners offers an opportunity to invite family & friends to come and help as well.
